Fans of the franchise will know that late last year, RockStar Games announced the much anticipated (?) sequel: Red Dead Redemption 2. At the time of the initial announcement, the company affirmed the game would be published sometime in the late fall of 2017.
However, anyone who knows the history of RockStar’s past releases will be well aware that the company frequently delay their titles. Keeping this in mind, it should come as no surprise that the Red Dead sequal will not be reaching consoles for the holidays this year.
According to the Rockstar website: ‘The game is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.’
‘This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.’ – rockstargames.com
Rockstar also apologised via their site to the fans for any ‘disappointment this delay causes’ and added that they are firm believers in ‘delivering a game only when it is ready’.
Below are some screenshots RockStar released from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 to tide us over until we get more information about the game this summer.
