Watch the Chuckle Brothers play live-action Hitman.
For those of you who grew up with these two lovable buffoons, there’s something deeply unsettling about watching the mustachioed siblings order an assassin to gun down a room of people, but here we are none the less.
In celebration of the launch in the latest installment in the Hitman franchise, Square Enix convinced the British ‘comedy’ duo to play a ‘Real Life Hitman’ simulation. The game has the pair guiding Agent 47 through a mansion in Devon and order him through a series of kills.
“When you’re in a quiet place, take him out,” orders Paul. “Can we push the statue on him?” he inquires.
There’s something both completely disturbing yet compelling about hearing Paul direct the character to “Shoot em all,” (despite concerns from Barry).
“Yes he can, Barry” insists Paul. By this point of course, it’s too late, everyone’s dead. ‘Oh silly you.’ Silly hitman, always so clumsy. ‘Oh dear, oh dear.’
For those of you outside of the UK who don’t already know, the Chuckle Brothers are a comedy double-act that starred in the long-running kids TV show Chucklevision. Favorite catchphrases included “To me, to you” and “Oh dear, oh dear” – in case those bits of the Hitman video went completely over your head.
For many of us, this pair was a staple of our childhood viewing schedule, so you can understand why it’s a little strange to see the duo turn from slapstick to cold-blooded killers!
