I like receiving mail, who doesn’t? The more I read and watched about Not Another Bill’s monthly subscription service, the more I convinced myself it was something I needed in my life.
Slightly obsessed with subscriptions boxes earlier this year, having around 8 set up over the summer, I couldn’t quite justify spending that amount of money on myself, especially when I would have literally no idea what I was receiving. Don’t get me wrong 24 bucks a month on designer items isn’t a bad deal, but I could never get past the payments page.

Their idea is a simple one: a subscription service where a surprise ‘hand-selected’ present is delivered to you or your chosen recipient once a month.

Each ‘carefully curated & beautifully wrapped’ item that arrives on your doorstep is chosen to suit the tastes on your online profile, which takes less than 2 minutes to set up.

This year, after feeling a little down before my birthday, and after I realised I’d missed some pretty spectacular items in the past, I bit the bullet and signed up.

Now before you read my verdict, don’t get me wrong. I know this subscription is a gamble, and that they have had some truly wonderful gifts in previous boxes.

I had always heard of NAB’s amazing knack for choosing the perfect item every time, but I have to say I was less than thrilled when I opened my box.

Kitchen  items weren’t in my interests, and I literally have no use for these ‘salt and pepper’ shakers. If I’m going off of first impressions, I honestly wouldn’t sign up again.

I’m willing to give them another ago for December, but only time will tell, in that I might cancel it before then.

  1. Terrific article! Did you keep subscribing to them?
I would love to see more honest reviews like this, are you going to be doing are more? Thank you =)

  2. I’ve been subscribed for a few months now, when i get something i don’t like i usually just re gift it
Not sure if that’s bad or not, but at least that way they don’t go to waste.

  3. I’m in the 3rd month of a six-month subscription. I was also less than impressed by the shakers this month. Frankly, I thought they were hideous and couldn’t bear to look at them. I’ve therefore returned them to NAB and am instead being sent whatever the other surprise was this month. I’m on two minds whether I renew once my subscription ends. I’m thinking I might be better off choosing things I know I like from their shop.

    1. That’s unfortunate. They didn’t put this item on their website either – where they show past items. Makes me feel like it was a big mistake on their part – not many people enjoyed it.

  4. sorry to hear u didn;t like your box. ive been subscribed for a few months and ive been happy with what ive gotten. if i were you id try one more month. if you tell them you dont like yoru item they might offer to do something too.
