My name is Rebecca, although most people call me Becca and I’m a 20-something-year-old college student from Glasgow.
I grew up on a very small island in the Northwest of Scotland, although I’m told my accent is more reminiscent of an American, Australian, Canadian and Irish hybrid. Which I attribute to years of television watching.
I didn’t enjoy my younger years in school, I lacked confidence and was browbeaten after years of teacher discouragement.
Throughout this time I discovered my love for all thing sci-fi, I read A LOT and when I wasn’t reading or watching TV, I was playing video games – which all attribute to my personality today.
After high school, I took a gap year, which ended up being more like a gap 3-year. In my time away from education, I Au-paired and travelled around Ireland, I started an online course in journalism and after returning home worked as a trainee reporter for my local newspaper.
This lasted around half a year until I could no longer afford to do it. I became a nanny to 3 beautiful children, who made me realise how important it was to follow your ambitions.
I still loved writing, and journalism but couldn’t see where I was headed. Luckily I was accepted into my 2nd year of college and love the people who I’m attending alongside.
I’m happier than I’ve ever been – for the most part. I’m doing more, seeing more and living more.
A small insight into who I am and where I come from.
