Neil Patrick Harris Gets Creepy

Fans of Lemony Snicket will remember that back in November of 2014, it was revealed that Netflix would be debuting an all-new live-action adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events, the beloved best-selling book series, which was set to premiere in 2016!

Enthusiasm for the series has been unwavering ever since. In fact, many of you will remember the fan-made trailer that dropped last year.

The trailer was so absurdly well executed that it sent lovers of the series into an excited frenzy, and was convincing enough that Netflix had to publicly denounce attachment to the clip.

Last year we got an insight into the casting choices for the upcoming series.

Even though the prospect of a new series excites me, in my eyes Emily Browning, Liam Aiken and Jim Carrey will be a tough act to follow.

Actor Malina Weissman will be playing Violet Baudelaire, the eldest of the three siblings.  You might recognise her from her previous roles as Super Girl, in the 2014 series, or as Young April O’Neil from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

Klaus, the brilliant book smart middle child, will be played by the young Louis Hynes.

Malina Weissman is pictured on the left and Louis Hynes on the right.

The silky-voiced Patrick Warburton will be playing the coveted role of Lemony Snicket, the ever elusive narrator of the series. I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t wait to hear Joe Swanson chronicle the storyline!

You’ll no doubt be familiar with Warburton’s work from Family Guy, Rules of Engagement, and Seinfeld. Image Via tqn.com

And back in March, it was established that Neil Patrick Harris would be undertaking the role of Count Olaf. The main antagonist, an eccentric criminal who becomes the evil caretaker of the orphaned Baudelaire children.

Thanks to the powers that be(the internet in this case), we have been blessed with images of NPH all dressed up as Olaf…

It’s scary how well he seems to have slipped so menacingly into his role!

Check out that scowl…

And that brow…

I’m a little terrified.

Either way, the series looks set to start on a strong note!
