Glossybox first impression and review

My first Glossybox finally landed at the weekend and it could quite possibly be one of the best value subscriptions I have received to date!

My first impressions are pretty good and my expectations were more than met, if you’re a makeup fan then this month’s box is definitely for you. Cosmetics make up the majority of the items, and much to my delight there are also some winter skincare surprises included too.

In case you didn’t know, Glossybox is a monthly beauty based subscription service, consisting of 4-5 full sized and sample hair, make-up, body and nail products from a mixture of well-known and upcoming brands.

1. Emite Diamond Heart Primer – Travel Size 15ml (Full-Size RRP 35 EUR)

This is actually the item I was most excited about this month, Emite provides your skin with a beautiful, healthy glow that gives a smoothing effect. You can use it on its own to create a glow or as a primer under your foundation or BB Cream.

2. MUA Eyeshadow Palette – Full-Size RRP £4.00

Unknown to me until fairly recently, MUA palettes are celebrated for their low price and wide colour selection. This is actually the second MUA palette I have received this month from subscription boxes, none the less I was excited to see the range of colours in this month’s Undressed Palette.

Containing 12 eyeshadows in a range of nudes, browns and greys, this palette looks like the perfect way to spice up your seasonal makeup game.

3. Eylure Natural Lashes – RRP £5.00?

The addition of the eyelashes aren’t really my taste, as a general rule, I’m not a fan of fake eyelashes anyway.

But as someone who doesn’t like the overstated appearance some lashes can give, these are great for a more of subtle look, and I might actually give them a go.

These lashes seem like they’ll give a natural look without being to over the top, and according to reviews you’ll be able to get a few wears out of them too!

4. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Full-Size RRP £7.99

Lusciously glossy plumped-up lips, the formula for these lipsticks are a mixture of Vitamin E and Avocado oil, that conditions lips and ensures no tackiness with instant moisture.

There’re four different variations this month and I received the nude tone, which I wouldn’t normally go for, but am looking forward to trying.  The formula seems creamy, moisturising and comfortable to wear.

5. Royal Apothic Cream Crème – Travel Size (Full Size: RRP $ 30.00)

Not usually a fan of these sorts of creams, I’m actually pretty excited to try this one out.  This body cream deeply hydrates and gently exfoliates in one easy step. Lactic Acid from Milk Proteins provides a mild exfoliation while Olive Oil and Vitamins A and E moisturise and repair for smoother, younger-looking skin.

Conclusion:

This month seemed to feature a collective of products all geared towards the festive season. And while usually being the least popular item, the body cream seems like it will be an essential for the winter months.

Glossybox included a generous amount of full sized products this month(over half) and the total value definitely beats the actual monthly subscription cost.

It was a great way to discover some new products, and I can’t wait to see what’s inside December’s box.
